Hey hey ✿

Thanks for stopping by!

naicha studio is an amalgamation of my various creative pursuits, experiments, and explorations. I started selling the things I made on etsy in high school and named my shop naicha (奶茶), the chinese words for milk tea.

I named it in part because i love milk tea and in part because it reflects my identity as a mixed chinese and German person. Being a mixed woman has influenced my work in significant ways. My identity has caused me to experience beauty standards in strange ways. Because of this, my portraits seek to challenge eurocentric beauty standards and patriarchal narratives.

I hope my paintings help other women of color see themselves as beautiful and worthy of admiration. More than that, I hope it helps them and others see the value, intelligence, warmth, and strength we exude and carry. Other influences of my work include nature, my amazing friends, and the emotions and experiences of my daily life.

as for my tufting work— that is the result of covid unemployment and tiktok! I hope you like my fuzzy experiments as much as i enjoy making them! :)
